Deep Tissue, Swedish and Prenatal Massage
Each session is tailored to meet each individuals needs so that you get the most out of your massage. A therapeutic massage integrates swedish massage which uses light to medium pressure; this engages the parasympathetic nervous system to relax the mind and body. Deep tissue is used to alleviate tight muscles and to break up knots and adhesions that tend to build up in our muscles over time; causing pain and muscle weakness. Along with swedish and deep tissue; stretches, trigger point work, myofacial release and aromatherapy are also incorporated to further help bring the body back into balance.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is effective in treating the whole person, mind, body and spirit.
Reiki is given by "laying on hands" and works with one's Qi or Chi. Qi is life force energy that flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If there are any blockages in the flow of one's Qi or if it is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress. Reiki balances and frees energy blockages in our bodies, causing us to more capable of self-healing.
Massage Cupping is the combination of massage movements and negative pressure with the use of a suction device on the skin. A cup is positioned at the area to be treated and a vacuum is created within the cup to draw the skin and underlying tissue into the cup. The produced vacuum creates a suction effect that increases blood and lymphatic circulation systemically and to the local area, relaxes muscle tissue, draws stagnation, pathogenic factors and toxins out of the body and releases a myriad of pain causing factors.
The suction of the cups rapidly facilitates rigid soft tissue release by stretching it up from underlying structures thus loosening areas of adhesion or restriction.
Drawing blood flow to areas of ischemic pain raises skin temperature, promoting metabolism within the skin tissue for better functioning of sweat and sebaceous glands, flushing capillary beds, draining stagnant blood, toxins and lymph, and re-supplying vital nutrients to the muscles.
